About Us
‘Manthan Narmada Lok Vigyaan Kendra’, a community science centre is a programme initiated by Manthan aimed towards spreading science awareness amongst rural and tribal communities. Situated in the Narmada district of Gujarat state with a massive tribal belt, the centre is supported by GUJCOST under the Government of Gujarat.It conducts about 300 activities per year that emphasize hands on approach. The activities cover topics like astronomy, sky observation and use science posters, and science workshops, featuring interactive exhibits that encourage children to learn and explore more. There are a number of programmes like Sunday schools, tuitions, demonstrations, learning science while playing thorough which are organized at the centre to engage the children around. 40,000 children have benefited through this initiative. The centre has received recognition on a state as well as the national level.
Our Programs
The programmes of Manthan Narmada Lok-Vigyan Kendra are carefully designed and curated based on the guidelines og GUJCOST. Come of the key programmes involve Celebration of S&T days, Science Film Shows, Vigyan Safar, Science Exhibitions, Science Drama, Popular lectures, Teachers workshops, Community programmes and several such more. In a period of a year Narmada CSC conducts almost 250 to 300 different programmes across the district of Narmada.
Unique Initiatives
At Manthan Narmada Lok-Vigyan Kendra tries to constantly bring new innovation focused and unique programmes at the centre. Several new initiatives like Global Science Opera, Asteroid Search Campaign, Innovation clubs, mobile van and several such programmes. Along with this Narmada Science Centre promotes and mentor students to participate in several National and Global level S&T and Innovation based competitions and programmes. This approach tries to bring the students of tribal district of Narmada par with other students of the State of Gujarat.
